molding that is used to produce the parts. There wouldn't have been any draft in the mold to get the part out had the tip of the lip angled more outward to catch that small corner. I've contemplated using some thin rubber sheet and attaching it with some rivets to fill that spot. When you look at how the air is guided by the fascia into that port, I really doubt that doing this would make any notable impact on the volume of air entering the duct. It would actually be more beneficial to cut the back lip of the fascia at the port by about 1" at the outermost edge - it will open the port up to the angle of the air path.
